What is Qigong?
Qigong (also spelled Chi kung or Chee gong) is a healing method originated in China almost 3,000 years.  Its aim is to cultivate and harmonize the flow of ‘Qi’ or ‘Chi’ or ‘vital life energy’ circulating within our body through a combination of breath control, exercises, gentle movements, guided meditations, visualizations, etc to nurture our physical body, mind and spirit. Qigong considers sickness as the result of Qi flow being impeded or out of balance.

Is Qigong safe?
As with any other physical activities, one may experience muscle strains and sprains if not properly warmed-up before starting the Qigong stances. Hence, gentle stretching and warm-up exercises demonstrated in the Video by Master Mak will guide you to avoid these discomforts.

The Qigong exercises or stances taught in the Video are extremely gentle and non-strenuous. In fact, learners of all ages, fitness and health levels can perform them within minutes. The best part is you can perform your Qigong exercises wherever you are, at any time you want. You don’t need any special equipment for your exercises. All you need are loose but comfortable attire, a pair of comfortable shoes (or bare-foot if you like it that way), and a small space indoor or outdoor to perform your exercises.

Is Qigong a religion?
Qigong is non-religious and non-sectarian, meaning it is not associated to any religion or sects. Although its roots can be traced back to ancient Taoist thoughts, where early practitioners often taught, practiced and conducted exercises and trainings within the premises of Shaolin and Taoist temples, but that is where the connection ends. The main purpose of Qigong is to cultivate and harmonize the Qi within us so that every individual can achieve total well being and happiness. Qigong is beyond any belief, dogma or doctrine. In Qigong, practitioner of any belief and faith is free to learn Qigong. However a spirit of oneness and togetherness is important to instill a sense of connection with all beings around us to achieve better results.

What benefits can I get from practicing Qigong?
I sincerely believe the physical vitality, higher concentration, and emotional calm you achieve by practicing Qigong is priceless, and the benefits, truly multi-fold. 

Qigong may seem like an exercise that falls directly opposite to the standards of modern forms of exercise; fast-paced, heavy breathing, sweating by the bucket-load, ‘no pain-no gain’ types. But on the contrary, Qigong movements are almost effortless, fluid, and to the uninitiated, slow. That’s the beauty of Qigong. Although different from modern exercises, Qigong has its own way to help you to become physically fit, energetic and flexible.

By incorporating slow movement, meditation and breath regulation, mental focus, visualizations, etc., Qigong stabilizes and harmonizes the flow of Qi or Chi (Vital life energy) within the practitioner’s body. An interrupted flow of this vital life energy enhances wellness. Qigong teaches practitioners to maintain wellness to prevent illness rather than seeking a cure after the onset of an illness.

How much time do I need to spend on Qigong practice everyday?
It depends on you. I have distilled all the Qigong exercises (stances) which took me years to learn into simple yet easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. Master Mak himself demonstrates all the Qigong stances in the accompanying Video.

The Qigong exercises contained in my ebook require you to take only 5-10 minutes per day. But the practice must be constant, like any other exercise if you want to achieve astounding results. Surely, you can allocate 5 to 10 minutes a day for better health, can’t you? Once you master these stances, it will become second-nature for you to incorporate Qigong into your daily life. You will be accustomed to the Qi or Chi (Vital life energy) flowing in your body, and would be more eager to practice often to achieve better health and well-being. Then, you won’t see Qigong as another form of exercise but a way of life.

Can Qigong cure any type of illness or disease?
As stated in our disclaimer, Qigong is not a substitute to conventional medical treatment to cure illness or diseases. Qigong is an alternative therapy that can be used to complement modern medicine – which many well known hospitals and research centers around the world are currently doing with astounding results.  What Qigong does is it simply harmonizes and accentuates the flow of Qi or Chi so that practitioners can harness this vital life energy within his/her body to achieve better health and well-being. Qigong philosophy believes in the prevention of illness rather than curing of illness. Hence Qigong will help you to become healthier to ward off any unwanted illnesses through a holistic approach.

Are you a certified Qigong master?
I am not a qualified Qigong master but a student of Qigong for many years. I feel I have the qualification to promote Qigong to the world as I am a living proof of one who had harnessed the potent Qi energy to fight of my disease. Qigong literally gave me a second-live. Modern doctors had given up hope on me and said that I would be wheelchair bound within 6 months (When I first sought opinions of doctors from renowned hospitals in USA). But my faith and constant Qigong practice pulled me through. That was more than 10 years ago.
I wrote this step-by-step, easy-to-follow ebook with accompanying photographs and illustrations (assisted by a video for easy understanding) with two driving principles in mind:
